We had a normal dinner on Thanksgiving Day at our friends' house as you might recall. A few weeks before that, when we didn't have any plans for the day, I'd purchased things to make a Thanksgiving dinner. One week after the holiday, I spent a few hours cooking our very own Thanksgiving meal. We had chicken (easier to cook than turkey), green bean casserole, bread, mashed potatoes and stuffing.
We ate our dinner, and then made lists of things we're thankful for this year.
Later on, Carson enjoyed a homemade pumpkin pie in a graham cracker crust with whipped cream he made himself. I married into a family that scorns pre-made whipped cream.
No idea what future years will look like as far as Thanksgivings go (hoping to spend it with family next year) but this was pretty fun!
I can totally accept whipped cream....way better! But pumpkin pie should never be on a graham cracker crust. Gingerbread crust would work though.
