Baby Bay is a...

We had a little gender reveal party so that we could learn whether Baby Bay was a little girl or a little boy!

We met at the playground at Tom Brown Park at 10am, since most of our friends had kids, so they had something to do. We snagged a table and decorated it with pink and blue candies.

Carson was insistent that I do the old wives tales gender tests, which turned out to be pretty split. We had everyone sign their guesses of baby's gender, and we remained neutral. Neither of us was sure what baby was, but our ultrasound tech had made an early gender guess of girl, and I did have a (really weird and therefore untrustworthy) dream that we would have a girl, so maybe we were guessing girl more than boy.

We had a few things to eat there, but before we partook of those, we decided to find out! My friend Caroline was the one with the gender envelope, and she found this big black balloon at Party City and filled it with confetti. She couldn't actually be there, last-minute, so nobody at the party knew what we were having!

It turned out that I couldn't reach the balloon, so Carson grabbed the pin and took over.

It's a GIRL!

It was a breezy day, and alllll the glitter blew onto my head!

Tuck was super interested in the balloon as it popped, went over to sniff it, and then returned to his stick. He wasn't really concerned with his new sister.

Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentine's Day the day before Valentine's Day. I got off early that day for a doctor's appointment, and so we decided to go to dinner after. We'd decided not to exchange gifts, so imagine my surprise when I walked in to flowers, macarons, a travel neck pillow (trust me, I'd been wanting one) and a card.

We got ready and went to a place in Collegetown called Centrale.

We started out with risotto bites, and they were delicious.

I had Chicken Parmesan, and Carson had a meatball dish.

The place was cute, and pretty empty.

We thought about a fancy dessert, but ended up getting slushes at Sonic instead.

And we closed out the evening by brushing the dog. Very romantic.

On actual Valentine's Day, we went to Publix for something, and Carson found frozen foods on clearance so we bought fancy flavored fish sticks (ew)

And we finished off real Valentine's Day on the couch.

Beaufort January

Right after the Hauschilds left us, we drove up to Beaufort for a quick weekend trip to see my old friend Brooke, and her two boys! I met up with her downtown, where I met baby Jameson for the first time, and got to see Clayton for the first time since he was 10 months old. He was only there for a little bit, and then went back with his grandparents, so Brooke and I could catch up.

We tried so hard to set up the phone as a self timer on a palmetto tree.

We've been taking these silly "year" pictures every year since 2006. Here we are with "18"

After church, Tuck and I met up with my sister in Forsyth Park.
