We had a little gender reveal party so that we could learn whether Baby Bay was a little girl or a little boy!
We met at the playground at Tom Brown Park at 10am, since most of our friends had kids, so they had something to do. We snagged a table and decorated it with pink and blue candies.
Carson was insistent that I do the old wives tales gender tests, which turned out to be Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15458557488993052977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1840111648688079229.post-31227348438864617862018-02-15T00:23:00.000-05:002018-03-14T00:23:20.675-04:00Valentine's Day
We celebrated Valentine's Day the day before Valentine's Day. I got off early that day for a doctor's appointment, and so we decided to go to dinner after. We'd decided not to exchange gifts, so imagine my surprise when I walked in to flowers, macarons, a travel neck pillow (trust me, I'd been wanting one) and a card.
We got ready and went to a place in Collegetown called Centrale.

Right after the Hauschilds left us, we drove up to Beaufort for a quick weekend trip to see my old friend Brooke, and her two boys! I met up with her downtown, where I met baby Jameson for the first time, and got to see Clayton for the first time since he was 10 months old. He was only there for a little bit, and then went back with his grandparents, so Brooke and I could catch up.

We started our morning at the Magic Kingdom off bright and early.
Our first ride of the day was the teacups!
Space Mountain was next, but I just waited in line and then a cast member showed me where I could wait for them, since pregnant women can't ride. So here I am, in probably the only place where you can be all alone at Disney.

Our trip to Epcot was John and Rachel's first time at Disney, and it was fun to experience that with them!
We rode rides before hitting the World Showcase, and just didn't happen to take much time taking pictures.

Our good friends the Hauschilds came to see us for a week!
We celebrated their anniversary, explored Tallahassee, and went to Disney together!
We also made mouse ears for our trip to Disney World!
And John attended the class Carson teaches (check out the guy playing Solitare)
They befriended Tuck, who especially took to Rachel.

It snowed in Tallahassee! It was the first measurable snowfall in Tallahassee in about thirty years, so it was notable, even though we got less than an inch of snow on the ground. It snowed for a bit in the morning, just enough to cancel school, and push work back for a couple of hours.
There wasn't enough to play in, but we took Tuck out just to let him see snow (he didn't appreciate Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15458557488993052977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1840111648688079229.post-210323178897004502018-01-03T12:57:00.000-05:002018-03-08T13:17:45.118-05:00Ringing in 2018
For New Year's, we had a few friends over, played games, ate snacky foods, and had a really low-key evening. We almost threw in the towel at about 10:30pm, but stuck it out until midnight, turning on the TV for the ball drop about thirty minutes before the calendars turned over!

We got to Maryland late at night, and spent our first day sort of lazily, playing with the girls and prepping for the weekend with a trip to Aldi.
That evening, we went into DC and toured the Museum of the Bible.
We also walked over to the National Christmas Tree on the mall. I've never seen it before and it was fun and festive.

We spent Christmas in Maryland, but on the way there, we stopped in South Carolina to see family and exchange gifts.
On our way out of Tallahassee, we stopped and saw the lights at Dorothy Oven Park. It was daytime, but we still wanted to see them!

We have been wanting to do this for so long and we finally did - we went to Epcot for the Wine and Dine Festival! We decided to get away for the weekend our baby was due, and chose to go to Clearwater. It was our first family vacation with a dog in tow, and I have to say that little Tuck was an excellent distraction for us all weekend. Baby Bay would have been due October 21. There are certain dates that are just more difficult than others, so we chose to get away for the weekend with just our little family. It is so crazy how much you can miss someone you've never met and how you deeply you can love someone you've never held in your arms. The brokenness is real, and the grief hits hard and often.

It was a hot day at the beginning of October, but doing something fall-ish was fun!
We celebrated the season by walking down to the church that's a couple blocks away and picking pumpkins to carve! We met up with the Kings in the street and walked over together.

The Coluccis came into town at the beginning of October for the FSU/Miami game. They came in on Friday evening about five minutes after I got home from work, and we introduced them to Tuck before deciding to order dinner from a local Asian place. I went with Pad Thai, Carson had green curry, and Morgan and Caleb went with Chinese. Grayson enjoyed some nice mac and cheese that we made at home.

We had to take Tuck to the vet late the other night because he'd woken up with a gooey, winky eye. It wasn't any better when we got home from work, so after we'd googled and also called the vet, we decided to take him in.

Well, this is a few months old, but Carson went to Salzburg for a week at the beginning of July. He left on a Sunday morning and got back at 4am the following Saturday.
